WHY AAU BOWLING
1. AAU is a highly prestigious organization with track records in many athletic activities. 2. AAU creates opportunities for national exposure of bowling with other sports at the AAU JRO Games. 3. AAU creates competition during non-high school bowling seasons. 4. AAU opens up opportunities for all middle school and high school age bowling participants. LOCAL EVENTS 1. AAU creates local sporting events in communities. Partnerships can be made with these events to create bowling events with other sports. 2. AAU Bowling creates “City Teams” bowling against other “Cities” or regions for civic pride. 3. AAU Bowling increases bowler development and long-term committment to the sport. 4. AAU Bowling can partner with other AAU sports groups in your area such as basketball, wrestling and others.
POINTS OF INTEREST AND CLARIFICATION 1. High school coaches cannot coach more than 3 bowlers from their high school team during AAU Bowling competition. 2. High school bowlers can compete either as a group or on different teams but these teams cannot be named after their high school. 3. All coaches and athletes must be a properly registered member of AAU. Registration is done on-line. 4. In 2010, a state AAU Michigan District Championship will be conducted.
